Dog Boarding & Training Programs

Our Dog Boarding and Training Program is one of our most successful programs. All the initial work is done by Eric Bernstein. If there is no aggression issues with your dog then almost all of the training is done at his home, at the store, and around the neighborhood of Yonge and Carlton wherever your dog requires socialization or training work to be done.

We have two different programs; 21 day intensive training, and 28 day intensive training. It is determined in the intial phone call which program will suit your dog best. The 21 day intensive training is meant for a dog with little or no socialisation or leadership issues, where as the 28 day program is meant for a dog who might require some extra socialization work. Dogs attending the 28 day intensive training usually need to stay a week to 2 weeks longer if aggression is one of the issues.

Both programs are not just for socialization. Eric will also ask you to bring a problem list with you. This list should include everything is problematic with your dog. eg: "My dog doesn't like it when I drop something that makes a loud noise" or "My dog barks when I open the refrigerator door." No matter how unusual the behavior, we must know as much as possible about your life with your dog.

Eric also works on obedience commands such as, sit, down, come, heel, and stay. We do not teach tricks like roll over. These programs are meant for commands used in every day life with your dog.

When your dog graduates from either intensive training program, we then need to train you on how to keep up the new behavior. We ask that you train with us for eight weeks after your dog goes home. This training is included in the cost of both programs. Eric will train you now on how to reinforce your dogs newly trained behaviors successfully.

It is imperative that this work is done with the owner(s) because if it is not then all the work that has been done could fall apart. If your wondering how such good training could fall aprt without your trainingthe answer is simply that these newly trained behavoirs are fragile because they are new.

Your dog needs to know that you are committed to the training, and will do the work which they have worked so hard to accomplish. You must be willing to keep up with this training or some dogs can actually feel let down.

Once you have completed your training with us your life with your dog will be very much improved in all the areas of concern discussed in our first phone call or meeting.
